Case Study:  Increase Efficiency, Decrease Email

Neal Otto, owner of Jumpstart Computer Training, Inc., will present a case study at the June 28 OCCA meeting on his work to improve communication efficiency and workflow with Dawson Construction Inc. of Bellingham Washington.

After analysis and training, Jumpstart was able to increase Dawson's overall communications efficiency by over 10% (client calculation).

Presentation will cover useful guidance on assessing client needs, developing and implementing solutions, as well as share workflow efficiency guidelines developed for the client using Outlook (concepts also applicable to Thunderbird, Lotus Notes, GroupWise, etc.).

Scott Hanselman from Microsoft will be presenting WebMatrix, their new free tool that allows you to create, customize and publish websites that can grow with you, from design and installation to deployment and maintenance.

It is one of the simplest tools for creating web sites that has come along in a long, long time.

To get started you can select an application from the built-in gallery, containing such applications as DotNetNuke, Umbraco, WordPress, Drupal or Joomla.

Or you can create your own masterpiece from scratch, written in either PHP or ASP.Net.

Scott has made presentations to the OCCA before, and has always been well received and appreciated.

Bio
Scott Hanselman works out of his home office for Microsoft as a Principal Program Manager, aiming to spread good information about developing software, usually on the Microsoft stack.

Before this, for over 6 years, he was the Chief Architect at Corillian Corporation, now a part of Checkfree. He was also involved in a few Microsoft Developer things for many years like the MVP and RD programs and he\'ll speak about computers (and other passions) whenever someone will listen.
